They have two children. Passionate about the relationship between sport and Christianity, he has written about ten books on the subject. He was an accredited journalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and the 2009 World Athletics Championships. He attended his third football World Cup in South Africa in 2010.
A member of Kidlington Baptist Church and Frilford Golf Club – not necessarily in that order – he is executive director of Verité Sport.
